Celebrating the launch of the UBC Stone Centre, featuring Dr. Hilary Hoynes (Berkeley)

The Stone Centre on Wealth and Inequality celebrated its establishment with an invited keynote lecture by Dr. Hilary Hoynes, Chancellor’s Professor of Economics and Public Policy at UC Berkeley. As a renowned economist and co-director of the UC Berkeley Stone Center, Dr. Hoynes is at the forefront of research on poverty, inequality, and social safety nets. Her keynote explores the lasting impacts of early-life access to social safety programs on children’s health and development, shedding light on the vital role these programs play in shaping human capital outcomes.

This launch also served as the first gathering of Stone Centre Faculty affiliates, MA, PhD, and Postdoctoral fellows, as well as the leadership team, to collectively kick off this exciting new chapter.
