Stone Centre Research Grants for 2025/2026 Now Open

The Stone Centre has begun accepting applications for its research grants during the 2025/26 academic year.

This funding opportunity is open to faculty members affiliated with the Stone Centre who are conducting research that deepens our understanding of the complexities surrounding wealth and income inequality in Canada and globally.

Affiliate faculty members are encouraged to apply. We particularly welcome applications from early-career researchers, including postdoctoral fellows and un-tenured faculty. Applications may be submitted individually or by research teams. PhD students may be included as co-applicants, provided they are contributing to a broader, faculty-led research initiative.

Grants of up to $25,000 are available to support one-year research projects. The funding can be used for hiring research assistants, purchasing datasets, obtaining research-related equipment or software, and covering travel costs associated with fieldwork. In exceptional cases, proposals requesting larger amounts may be considered.

Applicants should ensure they have all responses prepared separately, as the form does not save progress for in-progress submissions. The deadline for applications is 11:59 PM on August 15th, 2025

Projects will be selected on the basis of their alignment with the Stone Centre mission to understand and address wealth and income inequality, and applicants can expect to be informed of their funding results by late September.
