To celebrate the launch of the Stone Centre on Wealth and Income Inequality, we are hosting a launch event with a keynote lecture. As a proud member of a global network of eleven leading research institutions funded by the Stone Foundation, the Stone Centre is uniquely positioned to contribute to an international dialogue on wealth inequality. This event will bring together an interdisciplinary community of scholars and students to explore economic inequality and its far-reaching societal impact. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with thought leaders who are driving change in understanding and addressing one of the most urgent challenges facing societies worldwide.

The keynote lecture for the launch will feature Dr. Hilary Hoynes, a distinguished economist and Chancellor’s Professor of Economics and Public Policy at UC Berkeley. Dr. Hoynes is a leading authority on poverty, inequality, and the social safety net, currently directing the Berkeley Opportunity Lab and co-directing the Stone Center on Wealth and Income Inequality at UC Berkeley. Her impactful research investigates the long-term effects of early-life access to social safety nets on children’s health and human capital outcomes.

The launch will also serve as the first gathering of Stone Centre Faculty affiliates, MA, PhD, and Postdoctoral fellows, as well as the leadership team, to collectively kick off this exciting new chapter.
