Announcing the Launch of the Stone Centre’s PhD Fellowship Program

Tues, June 18 – The Stone Centre on Wealth and Income Inequality at the Vancouver School of Economics has officially launched its PhD Fellowship Program. This fantastic opportunity for UBC PhD students enables those who are passionate about wealth and income inequality to focus their efforts on answering these important research questions.

The Stone PhD Fellowship is here to support UBC PhD students in Economics in their third year or beyond. Fellows receive generous financial support—$20,000 per year for up to two years, plus a $3,000 annual research stipend. This funding helps to cover costs related to data collection, analysis and conference attendance, enabling students to focus on developing their research.

The chosen Stone PhD Fellows join a global network of Stone Centres dedicated to understanding and addressing economic disparities. This network includes leading institutions and researchers worldwide, fostering collaboration with experts from diverse disciplines both at UBC and beyond.

We invite interested PhD students to apply for this fellowship and join us in our mission to deepen the understanding of economic inequality. The fellowship not only supports individual academic growth but also carries a broader social impacts through innovative research.
